It’s a field. In the middle of nowhere. Between a cornfield and a field of cows. But it’s another successful visit to a National Trust site!
If you’re expecting anymore from Darrow Wood, I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed. It is literally a field with a few very old trees, and a small mound at the far side which is apparently the site of a motte and bailey castle.

To be fair, it was a nice place to have a picnic in the September sunshine, and I made friends with the cows in the next field through a gap in the hedge. They even let me give them a little head scratch.
Verdict: It’s a nice field.
